Nestled on a tranquil Gumlow property, Pynmanto Equine Encounters offers a rustic country retreat for everyone to enjoy. Our setting boasts an abundance of birdlife and wildlife, creating the perfect opportunity to connect with nature.
We proudly serve residents in Townsville and surrounding areas.
Mel, the founder of Pynmanto Equine Encounters, is transforming lives as an Equine Assisted Learning Practitioner, with a deep passion for Gestalt therapy and supporting those society often overlooks.
Her impactful work spans the drug and alcohol sector, respite care, aged care, NDIS, child safety, and individuals—both adults and children—who don’t fit within traditional systems. Her unwavering dedication was recently recognised with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce Social Responsibility Award for her exceptional contributions to equine-assisted services in her community.
With lived experience navigating the challenges, stigma, and societal limitations associated with being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and being neurodivergent, Mel brings a unique and deeply empathetic perspective to her work. Combined with ongoing training in mental health, self-awareness, and a commitment to deep personal reflection, she creates safe spaces where her clients are truly seen, heard, and empowered.
Mel’s vision is simple yet profound:
“No one is left behind.”
Whether working with individuals forgotten by the system or inspiring change through her story, Mel embodies the transformative power of listening, trust, and connection.
